979fm is the local community radio station for the City of Melton, Victoria. Run entirely by volunteers, it provides 24-hour programming including specialist and generalist music programs, local community news and talkback, culturally diverse programming in languages such as Maltese, Spanish, Chinese, Punjabi, Filipino, Croatian, Hindi, Greek and Italian, as well as live sports coverage of Ballarat Football League games.
